January CBC meeting

The KCA budget pased previously was back for amendment at January's CBC meeting. The budet number was incorrect and the amendment passed to correct the figure.

A resolution was passed changing the Comanche Nation Gymnasium to the George "Woogie" Watchetaker Hall. Chairman Mike Burgess stated there would be a dedication in the spring after the repairs are competed on the building.

Committee member Richard Henson brought back the Indian Preference Hiring Act for consideration. After much discussion the resolution failed on a roll call vote. View clip

Mr. Bill Volker, Executive Director of the SIA program made a presentation at the January meeting. The surprise guest was a female golden eagle who is being cared for at the SIA facility. View clip.

Mr. Ron Red Elk, president of the Comanche Language and Cultural Preservation Committee expressed his concern over talk that all Comanche nation language programs are going to be consolidated under one entity. To date nothing has been done in this matter. View clip
